Photos really can’t do this thing justice. It’s a beautiful object in the hand. My wife watched me unbox it with great interest, and when she figured out what it was, she said “I can’t tell if that’s the most pointless or awesome thing I’ve ever seen”. She’s right, it’s both pointless AND awesome, and I love it. I saw a few reviews saying that it should have o ring seals and that the sharpie is a little loose. I don’t know if this is a revised version, but it has o rings, is totally air tight and the pen fits perfectly snug. It was shipped the same day I ordered it and received the next morning. Hats of to the silver fox team, you have another highly impressed customer carrying your tools everyday..
Pen is great craftmanship, wonderful compact size. Had an issue with shipping (not shops fault) and Dave immediately took care of it. Will be back to buy more from this shop
My wife very kindly bought me the mule for xmas and it's replaced my leather Field Note sleeve with extra room for compact torch and pen-knife. With a birthday approaching, I'm tempted to suggest some other EDC items for the case, but so disappointing to see more than half of these 'heritage products' being shipped in from China when all we want to do is help UK manufacturing and business....
I received mine on Kickstarter and ended up giving it to my wife as she uses utility knives more than I do. It breaks in with use and gets smoother and the little sheath is burnishing nicely. I will be getting another one for myself when I am next in the UK.

The product is great, although I've given one less star because the aluminium is significantly lighter than the brass one, which to be makes is feel less premium. But if you want something lighter (without just carrying a mini sharpie) then this model is for you.
Also worth noting that the threads have changed in this model, so you can't interchange components with the older models.
So this is a really well made very cool tool. I bought two and have used them for a while now. Great quality great look - However the way my thumb falls when using this tool means that it sits just where the release button is and constantly releases the blade. This means for me in the workshop the design just doesn’t work unfortunately - so 3 stars for look and quality but a design flaw means I can’t really use the tool. Shame, but perhaps a version two would solve this?
I own a lot of Silver Fox Kit and I keep returning because of the quality, innovation, reliability and beauty of what they produce.
With regards the Ranger I bought it for a specific purpose. It was to carry in my chest pocket (in my plaid lined shirts of course) when walking the dog so I could make notes about the different flora and fauna we passed by and usually missed to be honest. So to nick from H D Thoreau “I went to the woods as I wished to live deliberately “.
It has transformed our walks and made everything more interesting.

This second generation Wyvis knife is so much better than the first. The first was made by Arthur wright of Sheffield with c70 carbon steel, this new one is made in China with stainless 14c28 steel which is far superior and holds an edge so much better. The fit and finish on the new one is also much improved and is screwed construction with a half stop
