The Garrison Balm is our in-house blended, all natural EDC preservation and restoration formulation to ensure your carry stays heirloom worthy. We engineered this wax protector to shield both hard-use leather and precision metal EDC gear. We tapped into our in-house expertise to brew our own "workshop alchemy." The result? A formula that honors the heritage of historic craftsmen while meeting the demands of modern carry - you can read more about the legacy in the product story.

Made by our very own leatherworker (and alchemist) Kamil, this isn't just a balm; it's a dual protection and restoration system for leather and metal EDC items.

For Leather: Penetrates deep to re-condition fibers, restore color, and buff out scuffs. Built-in antimicrobial properties stop dry rot in its tracks.
For Metal: Creates a hydrophobic barrier that repels water and blocks oxygen to prevent corrosion and micro-pitting.
Long-Lasting: Natural antioxidants preserve the ingredients themselves, ensuring the balm stays effective for years.

The 30ml/1oz tin is a piece of gear in its own right, featuring our signature vintage lid design that looks authentic on any shelf or in any toolbox - so you will want to keep on using it long after the balm has finished.

Apply sparingly with a soft cloth to any of our leather items to help clear scuffs and scratches, and to improve suppleness over time. For steel apply to our bladed tools like the Wyvis Knife, Jack Axe and Kitsune to help protect them from water and corrosion.

Patina & Protection

Whether you have invested in a quality piece of leatherwork, a precisely engineered tool, or a well-honed blade, you want to ensure they look their best as they wear in over time. We are proudly pro-patina here at Silver Fox Tools and decided that rather than keep on searching for something off the shelf, we would formulate our own protective balm product that could be used on both materials.

Why 'Garrison' Balm? Well, we liked the definition of a Garrison as being "a military outpost where troops are stationed to provide protection to an area." This just seemed to match what our product does very well, and suited the EDC environment and vocabulary also.

Every ingredient in Garrison Balm has been carefully chosen for its properties, many with their roots in ancient civilisations where they have been used by craftsmen and warriors for centuries, if not millennia. Each drop of balm carries with it the legacy and learning of Samurai swordsmiths, ancient Egyptians, Greeks & Romans, native Americans, plus medieval armorers, and European explorers. We are carrying on this tradition and hope you'll appreciate this history as you follow in their footsteps when applying the balm yourself.
