the story

Inspired by a tow hitch

The Penny Level emerged shortly after the launch of our Hexi Level, born from a desire to explore new ways to achieve perfect level. We were inspired by the simple yet ingenious 4-way bubble levels often found on vintage British caravans and trailers, used for leveling when setting up. It's amazing how such a basic principle can be so effective.

Driven by this inspiration, we set out to create our own 4-way level, choosing copper and brass as our materials. We love the look and feel of these metals, but more importantly, they provide the perfect weight and balance for this type of tool.

Initially crafted only in copper, the finished level reminded us of classic British penny coins, and so, the Penny Level was born.
